Pharmacy construction and renovation encompasses a range of facility types, including hospital central pharmacies (with cleanrooms, IV admixture rooms, and high-volume dispensing operations), hospital satellite and operating-room pharmacies, ambulatory and outpatient pharmacies, retail and chain pharmacies, independent community pharmacies, mail-order pharmacies (often including high-volume automation), specialty pharmacies, infusion and long-term-care pharmacies, nuclear pharmacies, and the support spaces that serve them, including dispensing counters, drug storage and racking, counseling rooms (with privacy and acoustic separation), sterile and non-sterile compounding rooms where applicable, automation and robotics enclosures, controlled-substance storage rooms with vault-grade construction, refrigerated and frozen storage, and patient and staff support spaces.
